As people familiar with Veolia will know, they are strongly committed to walking alongside and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples - and the new Spoutvac SV3750 truck was adorned with Veolia’s Reconciliation Symbol, which was created especially by the Gilimbaa Indigenous Creative Agency. The guests attending the event were also honoured to participate in a Dja Dja Wurrung Acknowledgement to Country and Smoking Ceremony, which was the graciously conducted by Aunty Lyn Warren on Dja Dja Wrung Land and was the first such ceremony at the site.
 
John Baranauskas, Regional General Manager Industrial Services from Veolia was on hand to accept the new truck and paid testament to the durability of the locally manufactured machine, noting that he has “been dealing with Spoutvac, now Bucher Municipal, for 20 years now - and this truck will last for 20 to 25 years”. The guests also toured the manufacturing facility which is currently being upgraded and expanded to double the production capacity to meet the high demand for Spoutvac products from Bucher Municipal. 

Greater City of Bendigo Mayor, Andrea Metcalf was suitably impressed with Bucher Municipal's commitment to local manufacturing and new job creation. During formalities she noted that “celebrating local manufacturing in Bendigo is always a good news story". Other local dignitaries, Chris Stoltz, Professor of Practice - Engineering from LaTrobe University in Bendigo and James Blood Economic Development Officer from the City of Greater Bendigo were also in attendance and were also pleased to see such complex high quality manufacturing was being completed in Bendigo. 
 
A traditional country barbeque run by the local Rotary Club was a fitting end to the day and a proper way to send off the SV3750 as she headed to her new home at the Whyalla Steel Works.
