Bucher Assist: Revolutionize winter road maintenance with satellite monitoring

The series of international conferences on the theme of Winter Road Maintenance, in which our company has been engaged in several countries around the world as a leading player in showcasing innovative projects, has recently concluded.

The first stop was Washington D.C. in the USA, where we were invited to the "National Academy of Science Engineering and Medicine" at the federal "Transportation Research Board" conference better known as "TRB". This conference, which is held every 4 years (due to the pandemic, it has not been held for 6 years), has the function of bringing together in a think-tank all the world's projects, with their practical field experiments, that present innovations from the point of view of road safety, environmental respect, modernization, organization and everything related to winter viability. During session 2023, our MD Enzo Giletta was invited to present our innovative Bucher Assist system for Winter Road Maintenance Management. During the speech, he was able to illustrate the operation of the technology and its benefits both in economic and environmental term, so you can understand the possibility of carrying out an efficient service saving up to 50% of salt, of course all supported by data extrapolated from the experimentation carried out in the city of Turin.

Later, we were invited to the U.K. national "ColdComfort" conference in the Harrogate, U.K. location, where we were able to introduce ASSIST together with Vaisala, a manufacturer of mobile road surface condition data sensors used in the trial done in the city of Turin. Our MD Enzo Giletta presented the project with the UK commercial director for Vaisala, Erik Sucksdorff. The presentation showed, to leading experts in the UK, the results obtained with Assist related to salt savings and Vaisala's new technologies for detecting weather conditions and events on roads.

Last stop, France. On June 7, the winter roadability conference organized on the IdealCo public platform was held, where Bucher Municipal through our MD Enzo Giletta, was able to present the Assist system with its important results from the point of view of sustainability and management of winter roadability. It also presented, through its commercial director France Emmanuel Horny, the complete range of highly innovative products ,such as Electra and MBS as well as an expertise on the implementation and performance of modern winter road maintenance. In addition to innovating and producing technologies for the modern performance of road maintenance, our company is increasingly active in training our customers on the use of new technologies, having an international vision and experience.
