Thinking about more environmentally friendly solutions

A new solar panel power plant has been built at Bucher Municipal Latvia, which in the future will replace part of the electricity amount, necessary for the company's operation, with green energy. 1422 solar panels have been installed right next to the factory as part of the project.

The aim of the project is to reduce the amount of purchased electricity, thereby also reducing the amount of CO2 emissions. This park is planned to cover approximately 17%-20% of the annual total electricity consumption of the production plant. Power of the solar park, which is located at Ventspils factory, is 500 kW.

Andris Grinbergs, head of the facility department of Bucher Municipal SIA (Latvia): "We are a large consumer of electricity in the region, so this is a strategic and self-evident step to reduce business risks caused by energy insecurity and price changes. In addition, the solar park as a solution for energy independence is part of our business approach, thinking about more environmentally friendly solutions and business sustainability. We are aware of our responsibility towards the society and the surrounding environment, so the implementation of such a project was natural. The Ventspils plant will also make a significant contribution to achieving the overall goal of Bucher Industries – to reduce CO2 emissions by 10% by 2025."

The only Bucher Industries group company in the Baltics is located in Ventspils, and it is also one of the largest mechanical engineering companies in Latvia.
