Innovative technology for brine application
Traditional methods used to ensure road safety during the winter period make use of solid spreading material (NaCl) to melt the layer of snow compacted to the ground by traffic and snowplowing.
Critical problems associated with traditional uses are due to the waste of huge amounts of material to melt the snow. Spreading over compacted snow also does not use the full potential of the spreading material.
In addition, the dissolution process is very slow and can be accelerated by humidity on the road or in the air. The use of brine solutions speeds up the process and ensures that the solution acts immediately on the snow to melt it.
At Bucher Municipal over the years, we have performed several tests on traditionally used materials and salt solution. We have engineered two technologies that allow the solutions to be used efficiently and avoid the turbulence that causes inconvenience to the environment.
Bucher MBS
The patented Bucher MBS system is characterized by the injection of brine solution on the layer of snow remaining on the asphalt after the passage of the snow plough, in order to melt it immediately and prevent it from turning into compacted snow or ice. With this innovative solution we are reducing the number of passes for snow removal by 33%.

Bucher BrineStar
New spreading system that combines dry and wet material into a single spreading unit. The use of these special turning nozzles positioned in the spreading unit allows a homogeneous spreading without turbulence till 12 mt. Improve efficiency by saving money, reduce the amount of dry salt spread by 20% with this solution.

About AssistBucher Assist is the innovative two-way satellite monitoring service designed by Bucher Municipal, a project funded by ESA (European Space Agancy) following a European call for proposals won by our group. The combined use of the MBS snowplow with the automated Assist system makes it possible to reduce the amount of salt spread by almost 50% and decreases the number of passes required by the snowplow by 33%.
