The precise placement of driver controls, the attention to maintaining identical seating positions, full leg and headroom, completely independent steering components – from the steering wheel to the axle, and intuitive accessory controls were just a few of the well thought out considerations.
The function is all-important in a work truck, but the style is nice too. Interior conversion components, manufactured by Salient Designs, a SportChassis company, complete the look of the interior, giving a seamless look to the dash. A vinyl covered center console top with integral cup holders comes standard. Custom door panels with door speakers are available.
Built at the SportChassis OEM vehicle manufacturing facility
The DualSteer is built at the SportChassis OEM vehicle manufacturing facility on a Freightliner M2106, and comes standard with independent left and right-side driving positions.
Both positions are equipped with separate steering wheels, steering shafts, steering gears, and steering linkages. Each driver position has been designed to work independently of the other and is selectable with the flip of a switch. It is a proper left-hand drive and a proper right-hand drive in one package. Built with OEM components, most of which are available from your local Freightliner dealer.
The steering wheel, brake pedal, accelerator, wiper, and turn signal controls are virtually identical in both positions on the DualSteer.
